Dwiti Digital Labs (doing business as PlantDecoder) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) values your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using PlantDecoder, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

A. Information You Provide Directly
- Account Data: Name, email address, and password (or Google/Apple login tokens).
- User Content (Critical): Photos of plants you upload for identification, diagnosis results, and your personal “Digital Garden” collections.
- Support Data: Feedback, crash reports, or inquiries sent to our support team.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Device Data: Device model, operating system (iOS/Android), unique device identifiers (UDID/IDFA), and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Which features you use (e.g., “AI Diagnosis”), time spent, and tap patterns.
- Location Data: We collect approximate location (derived from IP address) to suggest native plants. We DO NOT collect precise GPS coordinates unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature.
C. Device Permissions
To provide our services, we may request access to:
- Camera: To take real-time photos of plants.
- Photo Gallery: To upload existing images for analysis.
- Notifications: To send watering reminders and care alerts.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following business purposes:
- To Provide the Service: Identify plants, diagnose diseases, and generate care schedules.
- To Train our AI Models (Important): We use de-identified plant images and diagnosis data to train and improve our machine learning algorithms. This helps the “Plant Doctor” get smarter for everyone.
- To Personalize Experience: Suggesting plants native to your region (e.g., specific to Gujarat or Zimbabwe).
- To Communicate: Sending watering reminders, subscription updates, and security alerts.
- To Ensure Security: Detecting fraud, illegal activities, or policy violations.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in these situations:
Service Providers
With third-party vendors who perform services for us, such as:
- Cloud Hosting: (e.g., AWS) to store your data.
- AI Processing: To run the identification algorithms.
- Analytics: (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase) to understand app performance.
Legal Obligations
If required by law, court order, or government regulation (including Indian Law enforcement agencies).
Business Transfers
In connection with a merger, sale of assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
4. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information, including encryption of data in transit and at rest. However, please be aware that no electronic transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this policy.

Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.

Plant Images: Retained in an anonymized format for AI training purposes to improve service accuracy.
Account Deletion & Grace Period
When you request to delete your account, the request will remain in process for a 15-day grace period. During this time, your data is preserved, and you may request account retrieval by contacting us via email.
On the 16th day, the system will automatically and permanently delete your account and all associated data. Please note that this action is irreversible, and everything associated with your account—including your plant history, active subscriptions, and available scans—will be permanently removed.
Important Note: Before initiating an account deletion, please check your account for any active subscriptions, as these will be terminated upon final deletion.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:
- Access & Correction: Request a copy of your data or correct inaccuracies.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your account and personal data. Note: Some anonymized data used for AI training may be retained as it cannot be linked back to you.
- Withdraw Consent: You can revoke Camera or Notification permissions at any time in your device settings.

7. Children's Privacy
PlantDecoder is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites (e.g., articles or affiliate links). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
9. International Data Transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country of residence (including in India or the USA). By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country.
